We believe that many of the most important things children need to thrive cannot be replaced by automation: language, relationships, self-regulation, reasoning, curiosity, and judgment. These foundations are built through human interaction, over time, with patient adult guidance.
As artificial intelligence reshapes the world children will inherit, the work of building these foundations becomes more important, not less. The Bridge | El Puente exists to support the adults who do this work every day.

Ed.D., MBA
Dr. Martha Umana is an educator, author, and organizational leader whose work sits at the intersection of child development, educational leadership, bilingual learning, and human-centered AI in education. With doctoral preparation in education, graduate training in business administration, and decades of experience across classrooms, leadership, and parent education, she brings both scholarly preparation and practical experience to the work of supporting children and the adults who guide them.
The Bridge | El Puente was founded on her conviction that children need more than access to powerful tools. They need adults who understand how human foundations are built: through language, relationships, self-regulation, reasoning, curiosity, and care.
